Watch Romi Moondi’s hilarious, heartfelt and inspiring talk at TEDxYouth@Toronto 2013 about her journey of following her dream to become an author, leaving behind the comfort of a corporate job.

Romi Moondi is a lifelong writer who recently found success as a self-published author, which led to a six-month stay in Paris to pursue these endeavors full time. With a Bachelor of Business degree and nine years of working experience in the corporate world, Romi was the unlikeliest of candidates when it came to pursuing a dream abroad. It was never an inevitable path, but happened little by little, as she used her free evenings and weekends to write both screenplays and novels, improved her craft by reading books on writing, performed well in many international screenplay competitions, and published three books. All this, while excelling at her full time job in Print Promotions for Canadian Tire Corp.

TEDxYouth@Toronto brings together a line-up of inspiring speakers, spectacular performers, and Toronto’s inquisitive young minds in the spirit of “ideas worth spreading”. TEDxYouth@Toronto was hosted on Nov 16, 2013 at the Ontario Science Centre, Canada. For more information, please visit http://tedxyouthtoronto.ca/

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
