The National Museum of the United States Air Force is the oldest and largest military aviation museum in the world — located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, near Dayton, Ohio. We’ll see some of the more interesting items in their collections spanning four decades. The items include a “Fat Man” atomic bomb, like the one dropped over Nagasaki, Japan in 1945, the plane used to fly President Franklin Roosevelt, and the pen used by President Harry Truman to sign the National Security Act. This established the Air Force as an independent service.
