There are various business occupations within the world today. An accountant keeps and inspects financial records. They are often well-organized individuals who excel at detail-oriented work, while also having a high level of integrity since they handle large amounts of money on a regular basis (U.S. News, 2019). Communication is a key skill needed to be a certified public accountant, this is due to the constant interaction with customers who require their assistance and knowledge (U.S. News, 2019). Problem-solving is another useful skill for a certified public accountant to have in their arsenal, as they will need to be able to solve customers’ problems as they arise (U.S. News, 2019). Job security is a huge positive for certified public accountants since there is an endless flow of people making money who needs help handling that money (U.S. News, 2019). Public accountants can also perform audits, prepare taxes to be sent off, and help in consulting for corporations, nonprofits, and governments (U.S. News, 2019). Not everyone has the same work ethic as each other, so customers have to be wary of this and locate a certified public accountant that will have their best interest are heart and will work towards furthering their financial future. An optimal Certified Public Accountant (CPA) will proactively look out for their clients’ finances and ensure their money is safe (Gonzalez, 2019). They will also be in constant communication regarding their clients’ standings and developments (Gonzalez, 2019). Finally, CPAs will constantly review tax liabilities and manage them in the best way possible (Gonzalez, 2019).
Technology is constantly evolving and affects everything around it. The financial world is no stranger to the changes of new technology. With new advances in technology coming out, the amount of work one accountant can accomplish is on the rise. This technology increases efficiency and accuracy of the work being accomplished (CPA Practice Advisor, 2016). With the new technology being invented customers need help saving and spending their money wisely and this is where their local CPA comes in. With all this being said, accounting is a position that will always be needed in peoples lives.
The following articles have been selected, because they have more relevant information towards the topic of CPAs and better explained their position within society. The main three articles used were ripe with useful information. Two of the articles are from well-known news outlets, such as Forbes and U.S. and World Report News. The third was from an accounting website that was the CEO and founder of Vestment Advisors.
