In this excerpt from C-SPAN’s interview with Associate Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan (airing first on Sunday, December 19 at 6:30 p.m. ET on C-SPAN), Justice Kagan talks about why she originally wanted to become an attorney. Included in her comments, “I became a lawyer for all the wrong reasons. You know I was a law school dean and when I was a law school dean, I use to tell people all the time don’t go to law school just because you don’t know what else to do, but the truth was that’s why I went to law school, because I wasn’t quite sure what else I wanted to do.”
