Kayla Delzer is a second grade teacher who is working to revitalize grade school education by giving the students more ownership in both their individual learning process and the class room setting. She points out that many classrooms across the US and world are taught and even look as they did 50+ years ago. Its time to break the four walls, globally connect our youth, and embrace purposeful technology. She believes if the same repetitve task can be done with a pencil and paper, it is not transforming the classroom experience. Innovations such as virtual field trips and Google hangouts with classrooms in countries across the world are examples of purposeful uses of technology which can be used to branch our youth’s community in today’s generation.
