This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Since the early days of the gender equality movement, a notion has persisted that the best way to increase rights for women is to focus on women. While not incorrect, this strategy is incomplete and it leaves out a major factor in achieving social, economic, and political equality for women. So how do we complete the picture of gender equality and truly make the world a level playing field for both men and women?

Joselyn DiPetta specializes in the development and delivery of curricula and trainings that shape attitudes, effect behavior change, and cause transformative impacts within organizations and communities all over the world.

She is committed to creating more inclusive companies and leaders, enabling them to fully leverage all of the diversity of background, experience and perspective that their people have to offer. She specializes in and is an advocate for the development of women leaders in the workplace and beyond.

Joselyn’s experience ranges from supporting executives at Fortune 500 companies create meaningful, innovative change across their organizations to transforming gender norms in rural Egypt.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
