Patrick Vermeren gives a heartfelt ted talk beginning with a story about his suicidal sister-in-law. She had attempted suicide on multiple occasions, and succeeded at the age of only 36. While speaking with a trainer, he was told that “schizophrenia is a choice”. Since this experience, he has been an active consultant and coach, revealing the truth behind many HR theories. He further explains the problematic qualities of most academic literature in HR practices.
