In my personal opinion, I believe that leadership is one of the most important qualities one can possess. It is a quality that is not easy to develop, it requires many other personal traits. The speaker in this TED Talk understands this. One of the most important characteristics the speaker says is required to be a leader is HONESTY. In my eyes, it is very difficult to be a successful leader if you are not honest to those whom you are leading. You would have a very hard time following orders from someone knowing that they are a liar. Being a liar takes away from your credibility. Credibility and honesty go hand in hand, if you are not honest…you are not credible. That is why I believe honesty is the root of being a successful leader. Leadership itself is a quality we all strive for, but it begins with honesty.
