Management theorist Simon Sinek executes a phenomenol Ted Talk about leadership; discussing why most of the best leaders are the ones who make us feel secure. He begins by talking about a man in the military, who willingly charged a helicopter fire to pull out three other soldiers. In the military, we give these courageous men and women medals. In business, we give these people ‘raises’ or ‘bonuses’. Good leaders can be compared to parent-figures. Given the trust of an employee, good leaders tend to support, discipline and challenge everyone in their environment.
